The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
